Djolé

Pauls Nas schrijft: "Djolé (Jolé, Yolé), is a mask-dance from the Temine-people from Sierra Leone. In the tradition it is played on square drums in different sizes; the sicco´s (or sico´s). The mask is presenting a female although it is carried by a male during the dance. The song below from the Wassolon-CD is made by Mamady Keita himself and is a putting together some different Malinke- and Sususounds. It doesn't have a specific meaning; it's the sounds that made the song.
